POSITION TITLE

BIM Manager / Design Technology Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

To champion the firm’s strategies for documenting projects via CAD, BIM, and related technical software solutions and promote consistent, efficient, and effective ways of working across projects and platforms. To ensure accurate, coordinated, and complete project documentation. To problem solve implementation and integration challenges between software and workflows. To lead firm initiatives to expand technical capabilities and provide best-in-class tools for documentation.

To translate design ideas and concepts into design documentation coordinated with overall project technical and other requirements, and consultant disciplines. To drive project document development based on in-depth understanding and analysis of design concept, project type, client, competition, code and technical requirements and details.

APPLICANTS SHALL HAVE EXPERIENCE

  • Developing, optimizing, improving and maintaining CAD/BIM software templates
  • Establishing and implementing modeling, coordination and documentation standards
  • Establishing, maintaining and managing CAD/BIM software content library
  • Developing and implementing documentation automation
  • Managing training processes and support for CAD/BIM software
  • Managing software update deployments
  • Developing and sourcing support and augmentation tools for CAD/BIM software
  • Managing Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality implementation
  • Developing and improving documentation workflows using CAD/BIM software
  • Establishing and managing best practices for data management among consultant and construction teams
  • Organizing presentations and construction documents
  • Producing construction documents including plans, sections and details
  • Managing consultant team coordination
  • Developing technical detailing including innovative conditions
  • Designing with model US building codes
  • Implementing sustainability strategies
  • Conducting Quality Assurance Reviews of working drawings
  • Working with builders and VDC teams during construction
  • Supporting innovative projects requiring design collaboration with construction trades
  • Working collaboratively with small fast-paced teams

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of five years’ experience working in a professional architecture practice
  • US Citizen, or current US Green Card while on track to citizenship
  • Bachelor or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited institution
  • Software Proficiency: Rhino/SketchUp modeling, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Fluent or business level English language proficiency
  • Entrepreneurial/problem solving/creative mindset

OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This is a full-time, in-office (in-person) position for our Phoenix, AZ and Santa Barbara, CA.  Studio Ma offers a best-in-class compensation and benefits package, including paid time off, health, disability, and 401(K) plans. Salary ranges from $110,000 – $150,000 depending on level of experience.
