About the Role

- 3–7 years of professional experience in single-family residential design in the U.S.
- A portfolio submission is required
- We do not sponsor visas
- Remote applicants are welcome; however, candidates located in the Santa Barbara or Los Angeles areas are preferred for occasional in-person meetings
- Proficiency in Revit is required
- Flexible arrangement: full time salary or 1099 with a minimum commitment of 35 hours per week
Who We Are
Atelier Ma Design is a boutique architecture and design practice led by a husband-and-wife team. We specialize in high-end residential work, including remodels, additions, and ground-up estates. Our studio handles both architecture and interiors, while also collaborating with other interior design firms on select projects.
We are starting several large projects as the Architect and Interior Designer, which are presenting an exciting opportunity to contribute from the very first sketch through project completion. In addition, we have a diverse portfolio of ongoing projects in various stages of design and construction that will require your expertise.
We’re looking for someone who is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of moving projects forward with minimal oversight. This is a great role for someone who thrives in a collaborative but entrepreneurial environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
- Proficiency in Revit (required); experience with 3D rendering is a strong plus
- 5–7 years of professional experience in high-end residential design (experience in California is especially valued)
- A strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in high-end residential design and the ability to produce complete Construction Document sets
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, and team members
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Self-driven, motivated, and confident working through all phases of design, from concept to completion
