BIM & VDC Manager

Assemble Management (www.assemble.management) is seeking a full-time BIM Manager to join its Senior Project Management and Owner Representation team based in Manhattan Beach, California. Assemble has a successful ten-year track record focusing on the management of large-scale ground-up and renovation design and construction projects in the luxury residential market. Projects are managed nationwide.

Assemble’s principal role is to act as the overall project guide for owners pursuing complex architectural homes. They’re most often the longest-term project consultant starting with initial project analysis to finished project turnover. Current project budgets range from $10 to $80M in hard and soft costs and total over $250M portfolio wide.

This hire will be responsible for managing coordination between architects, designers, engineers, general contractors, and various other consultants for multiple projects at a time.

Core Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain BIM technical standards
  • Oversee Revit management on all consultants
  • QA/QC consultant models and drawing packages
  • Act as a coordination conduit to the Assemble Management Project Management team
  • Find and institute technical problem-solving solutions
  • Review and mark-up of all plans/models, schedules, shop drawings, etc.
  • Lead technical efficiency initiatives
  • Hire, mentor, train and oversee a BIM staff to handle future ongoing projects as the BIM Department scales
  • Project correspondence via phone, e-mail, text
  • Various other ad-hoc requirements

Experience of seven years or more as a BIM/VDC Manager or similar is required. The ability to read, comprehend, and mark-up architectural, engineering, and other technical plans is required. The position requires competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, Bluebeam, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks. Archicad, Sketch-Up, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Lumion, and other BIM tool experience is desired but not required. Construction and/or CA/CO under an architecture firm or similar is also desired, but not required.

The hire will work from an office in Manhattan Beach and will travel to various project sites as required, although likely infrequent. Benefits include ten days of Paid-Time-Off, 401k with a 3% company sponsored match, and Profit Sharing. Compensation based on experience; offers will range between $90,000 and $140,000.
