Our office is located in a storefront where we also have a small store selling objects for small living which serves as an interface with the larger community. 90% of our projects get built. We don’t mess around and the process is collaborative and fun!
We are part of the Altadena Community and have created a deliverable specific to the Eaton Fire rebuild efforts. The process is working. We have 3 in the building department and 6 more on the way. We are seeking someone who can focus on these efforts. Someone who has good experience with the city, with clients, and has strong organizational skills.
WHAT YOU’LL DO (Duties and Responsibilities)
Design
- Design and communicate with owners. Prepare and coordinate permit documentation.
- Collaborate with the team to design and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
- Work closely with the project team, consultants, and contractors.
- Help assemble an interiors specification and bid documents working with consultants and contractors.
- Assist partners with design and project management tasks to ensure client satisfaction, service quality, and financial performance.
Leadership
- Lots of room to grow within the company and a hands on experience at all levels of design and construction.
- Build independence and maturity and produce physical built work. Learn spacecraft. Practice what it takes to make real things quickly.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING/WHO YOU ARE (Qualifications)
- A professional degree in Architecture (M.Arch.) from an accredited institution.
- Arch II (licensed or not is ok) 6-8 years of real experience in design-focused firms. Internships or time during school is not included.
- Experience in custom design residential projects.
- Exceptional design sense with strong graphic and technical skills (e.g., fluency in CAD, Sketchup, V-Ray, and Adobe Creative Suite).
- Motivated, independent, flexible, and cooperative problem solver with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.
- Capable of taking direction and initiative with minimal supervision.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
