We’re looking for a Junior Designer to join our boutique interior design studio in Los Angeles, CA.
We’re a small, collaborative team working on thoughtful, high-end residential projects across the country. The right candidate is organized, design-focused, and eager to grow within a creative environment that values initiative and attention to detail.
Position Details:
- Hybrid: 1 day in-office + site visits as needed
- Part-Time: ~20 hours/week (flexible based on project needs)
Requirements:
- Must live in LA and be available to drive to local site visits
- 1.5+ years at a high-end interior design firm
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar drafting programs
- Must have a car and a valid driver’s license
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed design documentation, including furniture plans, elevations, perspectives, and millwork drawings using AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar software
- Prepare clear and comprehensive spec sheets and paint schedules for contractors
- Review FF&E selections, verify dimensions, and check shop drawings for accuracy
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and fabricators; communicate design intent under the guidance of Principal Designers
- Conduct site visits for measurements and project documentation
- Attend client and site meetings; take detailed notes and compile follow-up action items
- Create client presentations, including design boards and floor plans
- Assist with the procurement of furnishings, fixtures, and materials across multiple projects using the firm’s digital database
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field (preferred)
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to travel to project sites and vendor locations as needed
- Reliable, proactive, and self-motivated
