Concursos AG360: Mountain Sanctuary

A Mountain Sanctuary will be designed within the National Park in Argentine Patagonia, as a space for pause and contemplation for hikers and climbers on their journey to Mount Fitz Roy.

The Mountain Sanctuary should be conceived as part of the natural flow of the trail, functioning as an organic pause within the ascent experience. It is intended to be a space that provides protection from the extreme weather conditions of the Patagonian environment (wind, cold, snow), without becoming a permanent or overcrowded refuge.

The proposal should aspire to become a significant landmark along the route, a recognizable point that remains in the visitor’s memory.

The sanctuary must establish a careful relationship with the landscape of Mount Fitz Roy, avoiding excessive prominence and prioritizing framing, routes, and sensory experiences.
