THE TYCOON’S LAST DESIRE – The Client, the House and the Architecture of Power
An opportunity for emerging architects to win USD 10,000 and present their work in a curated architectural exhibition in Beirut.

Approximately 8–15 selected projects will be exhibited at Abroyan Factory in Burj Hammoud, Beirut, opening on May 14, 2027. Architectural drawings and physical models will be presented alongside the exhibition’s film material.
Participation is free, and individual and team entries are welcome.
THE COMPETITION
What kind of a house could contain a man who refuses to be contained?
Organized by Archifeed and curated by Teymour Khoury, The Tycoon’s Last Desire invites emerging architects to design a house in Faqra, Lebanon, through the biography, ambitions, contradictions and desires of a Brazilian-Lebanese client.
The client’s life becomes the architectural brief. Participants are invited to explore how personal history, political ambition, wealth and the desire for legacy translate into domestic space. What does a house reveal about its patron? How does architecture accommodate, interpret or challenge the power that commissions it?
Situated between a private commission and a public exhibition, the competition calls for proposals that combine architectural imagination with a considered response to the site, domestic program and practical requirements of building.
FORMAT AND PARTICIPATION
The competition unfolds across 3 rounds: preliminary concepts, developed architectural proposals, and final exhibition development. Physical models are required only from the exhibition finalists.
No architectural proposal is required at registration. Participants should submit one registration per individual or team, with one designated contact for team entries.
