Casa dell’Architettura of Rome announces the second edition of CONTEMPORANEA Call for Proposal (October–December 2026), with the aim of supporting original research and reflections in the field of contemporary architecture.
The Call for Proposal aims selecting architects, planners, landscape architects and/or conservation specialists developing an experimental research project, to be carried out through the use of the space “Monitor P” at the Casa dell’Architettura of Rome, identified as a permanent laboratory for research, production, and exchange. The project must be consistent with the annual theme of the CONTEMPORANEA programme, exploring the concept of “Contaminations” through interdisciplinary approaches, design practices, and applied research processes.

> Programme
Applicants are required to submit a research programme structured over the entire three-month period, which must include the following activities:
– No.1 opening event
– No.1 workshop with a duration of 3–5 days, to be held in the “Monitor P” space at Casa dell’Architettura;
– No.2 conferences or public programme for in-depth discussion of the research theme, involving national and/or international speakers;
– No.1 final exhibition, accompanied by a concluding conference dedicated to the presentation of the results of the research and the workshop.
> Required Documentation
Applicants must submit an A4 dossier in PDF format containing:
– Title, author, and abstract of the curatorial proposal (maximum 2,500 characters, including spaces);
– Collection of representative images (maximum 4);
– Schedule of the activities planned over the three-month period (1 A4 page);
– Cost estimate (1 A4 page), with any indication of sponsors and/or partners, where applicable.

Submission deadline: Thursday, 24 September 2026
Publication of results: Friday, 9 October 2026

All submissions must consist of a single PDF file (max 18 MB) and be sent by email to call@casadellarchitettura.it.
The email subject line, as well as the PDF file name, must be titled as follows: “CALL FOR PROPOSAL_Name and surname of the Author”.
