About the contest
FritsJurgens Asia’s annual design competition, Pivot Door Sketch Contest, is back. This year, entries are invited across two categories: students and professionals.
We’re inviting architects, designers and students to submit their best ideas for innovative, creative, and beautiful uses of our pivot system in a door design.
Your sketch must incorporate our pivot system into the door design, with it clearly visible in your drawing. The sketch must be precise enough for it to actually be
possible to produce. Include a description or use case alongside your sketches to help us understand the concept.

A pivot door is more than an entrance; it is an architectural moment. In the right hands, it creates spatial continuity between rooms, introducing a sense of how that transforms how a space feels. It can become a surprise element in a layout, revealing or concealing with deliberate intent, and makes the most of available space by eliminating the swing radius of a conventional door.
A pivot door need not always just be a door. Hidden in plain sight, it can take the form of a rotating wall, a concealed cabinet, or a secret bookshelf; design that surprises, delights, and earns a second look. Think beyond the frame. Designs may be residential or commercial, interior or exterior. The context is yours to define.

Who can participate?
The contest is open to everyone. No technical qualification is required. This is a creative sketch contest.
Categories
Professionals: practising architects, designers and built-environment specialists.
Students: current students of architecture, design, engineering or related disciplines.
Submissions are assessed across two independent categories.
