Terraviva launches FLORENCE HILLS, a new competition structured in 2 Phases, aimed at the adaptive reuse of Podere Santa Margherita, nestled in the heart of Chianti…
Prizes up to 25.000 € will be awarded to the winners selected by an international jury panel composed, among others, by Giancarlo Mazzanti (El Equipo Mazzanti), Anastasia Kucherova (Stefano Boeri Architetti), Gregory Kahn Melitonov (Taller KEN) and Nathalie Rozencwajg (NAME Architecture).
BRIEF
Marked by the passage of time and decay, this remarkable rural complex now calls for a thoughtful and innovative revival: one that can honor its historical legacy while breathing new life into its enduring architectural soul. The current condition of Tuscan ruin certainly gives Podere Santa Margherita a special appeal. Therefore, the biggest challenge will be to understand what type of interventions would be able to give a new meaning to the original constructions without affecting their authenticity.

GUIDELINES
Florence Hills competition aims to transform this forgotten estate into a contemporary luxury residence, inhabited by the owner family for a few weeks and rented out to other wealthy guests during the rest of the year. The intent is to rethink both the internal and external spaces, selecting materials, finishes and fur-nishings aimed at designing a residence of extraordinary architectural quality, conceived according to the principles of adaptive reuse and conservative restoration.
