We are excited to announce the results of the Tiny Library 2025 Competition!

This year’s challenge asked architects and designers from across the globe to rethink what a library of the 21st century can be. Participants were invited to design a Tiny Library for 50 users, within a built-up area of just 300 sq. meters. But the task went far beyond spatial limitations: the goal was to create an educational incubator, a community hub where traditional reading meets modern learning formats such as e-books, audiobooks, and audiovisual resources.

The competition called for spaces that are affordable, sustainable, and iconic—structures that can either be stationary or mobile, modular and replicable, always in close contact with their cultural and natural context. Above all, the challenge was to design libraries that ignite curiosity, foster self-learning, and strengthen community bonds, especially in rural and remote areas where access to education is limited.

This was not just about designing buildings, but about envisioning catalysts for change. Can a small library become a reason for young people to stay in their hometowns? Can architecture restore dignity by creating a shared space for growth and knowledge? These were the questions at the heart of Tiny Library 2025.

The Jury

The evaluation of submissions was carried out by an esteemed panel of architects, designers, and educators, whose expertise spans across architecture, urbanism, and community-driven design. The jury carefully reviewed each entry to identify projects that not only demonstrated strong conceptual clarity and innovative design, but also embodied the spirit of accessibility, sustainability, and cultural relevance.

We extend our gratitude to the jury members for their invaluable contribution and thoughtful deliberations in selecting this year’s winners.
